West Germany 1954 World Cup Away Shirt
The fifth world cup was held in Switzerland, celebrating the 50th anniversary of FIFA, the football governing body which is based in Switzerland. West Germany would finish the tournament as World Champions. They played their opening games in Group Two, beating Turkey twice, the second time in the Group Two play off game. In the same Group phase West Germany were easily beaten by tournament favourites Hungary 8 - 3. In the quarter final West Germany defeated Yugoslavia and then beat Austria in the semi final. West Germany then played Hungary in the final, the game going down in history as the miracle of Berne.
West Germany's shirts were manufactured by Leuzela who would continue to supply West Germany for the next two World Cup tournaments.
